Fashion Friday: Introducing Victorian-Gothic…

Written by , Posted in All About the Bride, Fairs & Shows

Only 2 more sleeps until we visit the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza of the year and we couldnt be more excited, its like christmas come early. For fashion friday we would like to introduce you to another of the amazing talents that will be exhibiting at the show on sunday Victorian – Gothic, with a new collection that promises to be even grander and dramatic than ever before. Michelle from Victorian Gothic shared a few dresses from this collection with us this week, and as you will see they will not dissapoint, honestly these dresses are just damn gorgeous!

Victorian-Gothic creates bespoke clothing inspired by historical designs from the Regency, Victorian, Edwardian and Burlesque. They work with brides to create an outrageous, flamboyant and beautiful gown beyond their wildest dreams.

From a studio in a cottage in the Sussex countryside the designer, Michelle Artemis, will work closely with you from inception through to creation, using her extensive library of historical designs and patterns. Michelle has spent a lifetime studying, designing and making historically based clothes. The company was set up two years ago as a result of increasing demand and requests from friends and acquaintances. As her reputation spread she gave up a teaching career to concentrate full time on developing the business which now focuses largely on the wedding market.

Where many use modern costume construction techniques, Michelle is unusual in that she uses vintage techniques, little seen today, which give far superior fit and finish. She uses her quirky eye for fashion to bring together the wonderful tradition of outrageous costumes, with the modern and the dramatic. This, together with a fusion of modern materials and contemporary cutting edge design, results in couture detailing and a finish that truly “knocks ‘em dead.”
