Bespoke-Bride: Wedding Blog

About Bespoke Bride

“Offering inspiration and advice to brides who envision their day their way!”

Meet Emily:

I began Bespoke Bride in the summer of 2011 under the name of Envi Occasions, a business that made handmade environmentally friendly wedding invitations. The original idea of the blog was to document and advertise my creations. Just before Christmas of 2011 I contacted an old friend  (Jessica) about doing some photography for my website, we met and talked over a couple of ideas, when I realised Jessica was going to become a very important part of Envi Occasions and so a partnership was born. We re-launched in November 2011 as Bespoke Bride, and not surprisingly as my passion is for writing, the blog quickly became my main priority. When I became engaged on New year’s day 2012 the blog was a great way to document the themes, ideas and photography that I loved and so my passion for weddings was  born!

The twist in this story is that I am no longer engaged but my love for the wedding industry wouldn’t change for anything, neither would I change my love for people being in love. Although many other aspects of my life mean starting again this is the one thing that will stay the same.

Some things about me you should know:

♥ I am 26 years old with a love for love, creativity, nature and science (a mish mash of things I know)

♥ I am a Cat lady

♥ I have a degree in Animal Biology and Ecology

♥ I enjoy singing and really want to learn to play guitar

♥ I love writing, about weddings especially, but would also love to write about my love of nature, animals and science

Time and time again I’m asked how I ended up writing for a wedding blog rather than using my degree, and for a while I was embarrassed that at 26 I was still very unsure about how the two fitted together, I have finally come to accept that they don’t fit together (as such?) but I will continue to have them both in my life.

Meet Jess:

Hello there! I’m Jess, 21 years young and also living in the Forest Of Dean!
My obsessions include:

♥ Photography

♥ Making things out of anything I can get my hands on! (We love to recycle & re-use!)

♥ Travelling

♥ Italian food

♥ The feeling of sand between your toes

♥ Reading (and collecting lots of beautiful books for that matter!)

♥ Summer

♥ Lacey items of clothing (a bride in a lace dress gets me every time!)

♥ USA

♥ Christmas time & all of the gorgeous furry hats, extravagant wrapping & good times that come with it!

I’m the girl that takes hundreds of photographs on any night out, event, day trip, you name it, and I’ve got a camera in my hand for it! I absolutely just love documenting through photographs, the way they can tell the story of a day or experience is something that can always be kept with you. Back at college I studied graphic design, media & photography which would soon be the perfect combination for my place within Bespoke Bride! Now i’m a part time wedding photographer, something that has unlocked my love for weddings even more! I love the idea of not only photographing two people in love but capturing a memory that will last forever. So, when Emily approached me in the summer of 2011 with the idea of a wedding blog I was instantly captivated by it! Ever since that day my life’s been full of fun, frills & fairs! I couldn’t ask for anything better!

Bespoke Bride

Bespoke Bride is a wedding blog dedicated to inspiring brides to ‘envision their day, their way!’ Long gone are the days of your standard wedding where everything looks the same as the last 5 weddings you attended! We encourage the idea of incorporating the couple’s personalities or passions into the theme of their wedding! We provide fresh, daily content and discuss all areas of the wedding industry from showcasing other couple’s real weddings and bridal businesses to planning advice and style inspiration!

“The crazy thing about us is that we have both pretty much known each other our entire lives but neither of us discussed our plans and ideas with each other! We were just two people completely on the same wave length & full of imagination! So, when we finally did get together we were pretty much impossible to shut up! Weddings became a household word and all of our ideas and plans finally came together to form Bespoke Bride!”
