Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Sci Fi Adventure

On Monday night me & my sister stayed at Em’s house for a girlie night in, we ate tapas, drank lots of tea and eventually decided we would put on a DVD. During my search through Emily’s collection I came across the latest Star Trek and proceeded to question why the hell she had that amongst the rom-coms and occasional thriller. I was politely informed that I was too quick to judge and should 100% watch it because it’s ‘really good’! I admit it. I never gave Star Trek a chance, but hey I love sci fi as much as the next guy so why not?! I borrowed that beauty and it’s at the top of my list of films to watch this week! Anyway, as you all know I have a tendency to take any random thing and turn it into a potential wedding theme! So you guessed it…make way for a Sci Fi wedding theme people!

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: ‘We Bought A Zoo’

If you’re a regular reader of Bespoke Bride you’ll know that a few weeks ago I watched ‘We Bought A Zoo’ and kept banging on about it because I loved it so much! For those that haven’t seen it it’s a heart warming film about a family who buy a house that is situated on a zoo and as part of the home deal they have to restore and open the zoo.  Now, I don’t know about you but I reckon I would flipping love living on a zoo! But how about getting married at a zoo?

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Pretty Paris, OOh Là Là!

I haven’t been to Paris since I was about 13 and even that was a drive through and onto Austria which means I can honestly say that I’ve never experienced that certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ about Paris…but I sure as hell intend to! After all, it’s the city of romance right? And can you imagine getting married there?! Sheeeesh. It would be beautiful.

So what would a Paris themed wedding actually look like I hear you cry?! Well, you know that classic scene on Bridesmaids where the wedding shower is Paris themed? Yep. That’s what I’m picturing. Minus the best friend hissy fit though (obviously keep the pink lemonade…and maybe that chocolate fountain…)

Throw away the apples, ditch the oranges, and forget the pears! It’s all about the berries baby! I LOVE berries and it’s just about to be their prime time in the spotlight, summer is on the horizon and I’ve got strawberries, raspberries and blueberries on my shopping list. So, how would berries work within a wedding? Pretty dam well I’d like to think…

Show of hands who follows Kat Von D on instagram? We sure do, the woman is amazing. Her artwork alone is stunning, not to mention she’s super hot! We totally saw her once in Hollywood and did the classic ‘that girl looks loads like Kat Von D…omg…omg it’s actually Kat Von D‘ like a right pair of losers! ha! Anyway, more to the point, tattoos are art and if you have them, they are a huge part of you! So why not incorporate them into your big day?

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Aztec Inspired

Last night, while I sat down sipping on a sugary cup of tea,  I had a flick through the H & M magazine that had arrived in the post. Bold Aztec prints were making a regular appearance which made me super happy! I LOVE AZTEC. It reminds me of Mexico and has that cool edge that you just can’t get from pretty florals!

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Arabian Nights

Last week while I was writing my post on what I would do if I was in New York I decided I would get all cliche and watch the Sex And The City movie at the same time, however I couldn’t find the first one in my ridiculous DVD collection so I dug out the second one! You know the one where the girls go to Abu Dhabi, well, you know you’re becoming  a little obsessed with styling when you start taking note of the decor over the story line! I just couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous colours and Arabian schemes! Then, bingo…you guessed it! I got all inspired to create an Arabian Nights inspiration board. (classic Gemini trait of getting distracted by other ideas too easily!)

Arabian schemes tend to feature an array of colours but the ones that were most striking to me were the golds, dark purples and splashes of orange! See for yourself…

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Earth & Vegetable Garden

I may be going a little crazy here and I’m definitely not known to eat all my vegetables in life but I’ve got in my head that having an earthy/vegetable themed wedding could potentially be really cool! Think about it for a second….those deep greens and vibrant coloured food goodies could really brighten up the day instead of using flowers! Plus gardeners and vegetarians alike would probably love it and needless to say no one would go hungry…
