Written by , Posted in Be Inspired

“Toto…I’ve got a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore”

Wizard Of Oz

Ok. I can’t hide my excitement at the release of Oz: The Great and Powerful, I haven’t had chance to go and see it yet but it’s on the top of my list for this week! Until then…I can only dream of the classic Wizard Of Oz tale complete with sparkly red shoes, the yellow brick road and a whole lotta emerald! Wedding theme anyone?? Yes please…

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Tick Tock…It’s Wedding O’ Clock

Written by , Posted in Be Inspired

Some brides who have been with their partners for a while feel “It’s about time” they were getting married to the love of their lives and this got us thinking…wouldn’t it be cool to incorporate time and clocks into your theme?

Bride clock

I got to work searching high and low for inspiration and what I found were some beautiful weddings and of course tons of awesome clocks…

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: It’s Mint To Be!

Written by , Posted in Be Inspired

The last few weeks of Wednesday Wedding Inspiration have been wacky and wild! We featured Dr Seuss, Comic Book and even bold Geometric themes…but we know that those styles (as awesome as they are!) won’t float everyone’s boat! That’s why this week we thought we would focus on one of the most popular shades of pastel…mint.

Mint Colour Scheme

Whether you decide to go for mint green, mint blue or both, it’s clear that this colour scheme is a whole lot of pretty and fun!

Unusual Inspiration Item: The Tiger

Written by , Posted in Be Inspired

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about how sometimes it’s nice to take inspiration from random objects as a theme or colour scheme for your wedding! Last time, it was the kiwi and this week I’m taking inspiration from a tiger!

Tiger Colour Scheme2

Fierce! And since animal print made a few appearances in London fashion week it makes even more sense to take inspiration from this gorgeous creature. Faux fur only though people!

Remember, there’s a fine line between classy animal print and tacky animal print, so here’s how to make it work…

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Comic Book Craze

Written by , Posted in Be Inspired

It’s no secret that me and Emily love super heroes and marvel comics. I’m not kidding you when I say I used to have a card board cut out of Thor (hey don’t judge me! The cinema was throwing it away…I was only thinking of the environment…)

And I don’t wanna brag or anything but me and Em have met a few of the heroes in our lifetime and they were pretty dam smoking…

Em Jess Comic Book

Even dressing as a super hero ranks pretty high on my list of things I like to do!

Jess Comic Book Strip

So on Sunday night when I sat down to watch the Avengers (again) it hit me (POW!) that a comic book wedding would be ridiculously cool!

Whether you focused on just one comic book or threw all the characters together to create a crazy comic concoction it would be seriously awesome. Check it out…

Unusual Inspiration Item: The Kiwi

Written by , Posted in Be Inspired

Sometimes looking at the same old magazines and books for wedding inspiration can become a bit…well….samey. Which is why it’s nice to get away from all of that and look elsewhere. For example, in your fruit bowl.

Now, here me out! I haven’t gone diet crazy demanding that fruit be used everywhere! I’m simply saying, think outside the box. Colour schemes can be found all over the place!

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Fun 50′s Retro Theme!

Written by , Posted in Be Inspired

50s Fun Retro Wedding

Ahhhhh the 50′s! An era of big bouncing skirts, Elvis and colourful milkshakes lining the bars of diners!

Using an era for a wedding theme is an absolutely awesome way to customise all of those special details of your day, think about it for a second…polka dots, coca cola, vinyl records and popcorn! Uhhh YES PLEASE!

We’ve gone with a red and duck egg blue theme for this inspiration board but it would work just as well by mixing up the colours! Yellow and pink would be super pretty and like…totally….50′s housewife darling!

Enjoy! x

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: You’re Making Me Blush!

Written by , Posted in Be Inspired

Oh baby do I love blush! It’s such a feminin and soft colour sitting pretty between the presence of bright pink and pure white. Not to mention, it’s one of the most romantic colours on the spectrum.

The best part about blush is that it goes with almost anything since it’s so neutralso if you’re thinking of adding those girlie touches to your day then a few select decor pieces in this shade of pink would work perfectly!

That’s not to say that it doesn’t work beautifully as your main choice of colour, if you want to go full throttle on the blush then you’re in the right place! We’re talking blush bridesmaids, bouquets & bows!

Enjoy!
