Wedding DIY: How To Make Your Own Wedding Car Cans!

Written by , Posted in How To...

DIY Wedding Car Cans

Is this even legal anymore? I’m not sure but I know I haven’t seen it done for quite a while! It seems that one of the more traditional things of a wedding is now an unusual thing to do! But where did it all start? I did a quick Google search and I got a couple of answers! The 1st being that the tradition is from the Middle ages, the noise was apparently used to warn off  evil spirits from kidnapping the bride! The 2nd being to get people’s attention to show off that you’re married and proud! I’m not sure which is true but either way I think these look really cute! If you want to know how to make your own then just read on…

Beauty DIY: How To Paint Aztec Nails

Written by , Posted in How To...

I’ve got to be honest. I’m really not that great at painting nails! Considering i’m quite a creative and artistic person you would have thought it would come natural to me, but oh no, my hand is not a steady one when it gets close to my nails! The problem is, I love patterned nails, crazy nails, bright nails and above all, aztec nails. So what’s a girl to do? Well either fork out for a pro or just power through and go for it I say!

DIY Aztec Nails

I know these look a little stodgy but not bad for a first attempt I feel? Here’s how I did it…

First of all you will need:

 2 different colour nail varnishes

♥ Cotton buds & cotton pads (in case of emergency!)

 1 Cocktail stick

Sellotape (well I used sellotape because I had nothing else, but the proper nail guide stickers would be better!)

A small plate

Ready? Let’s go..

Home DIY: How To Make A Button Bowl

Written by , Posted in How To...

DIY button bowl

I’ll admit it. This DIY was not as easy as I thought it would be and I definitely made a tactical error by using small buttons! Having said that, I still think the bowl looks pretty cute filled up with jewellery or whatever else you fancy popping in your bowl of buttons! Right, let’s get to it shall we?

DIY Button Bowl You Will Need

 A single balloon

 Glue

 Sellotape

A mug (or something to be able to secure the balloon to)

Lots and lots of beautiful buttons! (the bigger the better!)

Wedding DIY: How to Make Your Own Altar.

Written by , Posted in Decor, How To...

I love how an altar can instantly set the mood of your wedding ceremony, you may remember our 12 alternative altars that we featured last year, it was full of creative and original ways to create and dress an altar. Handmade altars are unique and personal, however I was unsure of how easy they would be. If you have decided to be a DIY bride this might be one task you are unsure of tackling but let me tell you, this altar was super easy, super quick (it took just over an hour!), super cheap and super versatile (you can decorate, however you want, to fit in with whatever your theme). Making your own altar could not be any easier.

DIY Wedding Altar

Please excuse the state of my garden in these images, it is in the process of being tidied up :/

You will need:

10 Bamboo canes (but 11 would have been ideal just so we could hang things from the front) Make sure the canes are a little taller that you and partner.

 String

Material of your choice and colour (the same length as you bamboo canes)

Flowers of your choice and colours
