There was absolutely no way we couldn’t have shared today’s bridal shoot with you – it’s so damn pretty! So, the next thing you are probably going to ask yourself is ‘how can I get this look for myself?’. Well, don’t worry as wedding planners, Laura and Kym are sharing the how’s and why’s of throwing a bridal shower so you can get the look for yourself.
I will be attending my first wedding of the year this weekend which can only mean one thing… Summer wedding season is upon us. With the weather hotting up, more couples will be looking to celebrate their big day outdoors with festival and bohemian themes being the most popular trends. So if your a summer bride looking to incorporate some fun-loving free spirited style into your wedding day decor, here’s how…
Carissa and Cory tied the knot in the desert with style! Wearing a two piece wedding dress and floral crown the bride looked like a real bohemian princess. The ceremony took place in church and the reception party took place outdoors at a private estate in Indio just down the street from “OLDchella” which could be heard in the background. All the details were in place for this backyard DIY wedding. We love how they made the seating chart look like a stage bill for Coachella festival and they even had pool for guests to enjoy with top shelf cocktails, cigar bar, photo booth, tipis and my favourite a Ben & Jerry’s cart.
Upon seeing a shoot like today’s, I often wonder where the designer found their inspiration? As a creative myself, I usually find inspiration from all sort of places, usually when I least expect it? So I asked Julie Crawford, both designer and photographer of today’s shoot, how she found the inspiration for this styled shoot?
Talking of inspiration if your looking for inspiration for alternative wedding readings, make sure you read the poem at the end of this post, thoughtfully created by the dress designer at ‘Dreamers and Lovers’.
“Big Sur is lush and magical so I wanted to create a shoot that represented how I feel when I see a photograph of the beautiful California coast with the turquoise waters and jagged edges.” She began.
“I chose this location because it is one of the most beautiful places to witness! I journeyed on a 25-day road trip by myself and drove all the way across the country to photograph the shoot. My passion is adventure, love, and art; so I use all aspects when I design shoots for other creatives.”
“I worked tightly with a group of amazingly talented wedding artists across the nation to bring this shoot to life. The color palette of pinks and greens brings forth the tropical design along with keeping it every bit bohemian with a huge chunks of crystals, vintage china, gold geometric pieces a floral crown and a handmade dress from Dreamers and Lovers who also wrote the poem below.”
“We wanted to appeal to free spirited couples who aren’t afraid to shine boldly – in both love and color. The real life couple photographed here could not have fit the vibe more perfectly. I’m all about the wild couples who love from the soul. Magic.”
“When I create shoots – especially over 2500 miles away with people I’ve never met – I never know truly how it will play out, but I promise it always works out exactly how it is suppose to every single time. Working with other creatives with the same passion for the love and art that empowers me, it is almost as if the stars align, it all falls together perfectly, and we create a beautiful thing.”
