DIY Just Married Door Mat Spray Paint Rustoleum Cricut Newlywed Project Tutorial-7

DIY Just Married Door Mat Spray Paint Rustoleum Cricut Newlywed Project Tutorial-7

A lot of newlyweds say to us that once their wedding was over they felt a little sad that they didn’t have any more projects to get stuck into and this made us think about all the just married DIYs that could be made once you’ve tied the knot to keep the spirit of your special day going! Say hello to the just married door mat! It’s the perfect way to let the world know that you’re celebrating and is a super fun and easy craft that you can make after your wedding! If you like, you could even make it before hand and have it ready, or I love the idea of one of the bridesmaids making one and surprising the bride and groom with it once they get home! How cute would that be?! Here’s how to make your own…

YOU WILL NEED:

A door mat // Spraint paint in the colours of your choice (we used Rustoleum Candy Pink and Rustoleum Berry Pink) // Rustoleum Crystal Clear Protective Coat // A Cricut machine* // Just Married Template** // Cardstock // tape // newspaper //

*If you don’t have a Cricut then fret not! You can still create the DIY, you’ll just need to draw the stencil onto card using a ruler and pencil, then cut out the pieces using a stanley knife

**We’ve included the Just Married template above, but if you’re using a bigger size mat (like me) you’ll probably need to cut out the ‘JUST’ first on one piece of card, followed by ‘MAR’ and then ‘RIED’ also on separate pieces of card. The templates for these are here: ‘JUST‘ , ‘MAR‘ , ‘RIED

STEP 1:

Either upload the templates to the Cricut design space and set your machine to cut out the card stock or as said above, cut out the stencils by free hand.

STEP 2:

Once everything is cut out you’ll want to tape the templates down to the mat, making sure that they’re secure. I used double sided tape to stick the middle of the A’s, D’s, etc down.

If you’re already dreaming of the weekend then today’s DIY is for you my friend! Holly from Club Crafted is back with this super fun cocktail shaker DIY! I mean why pour your drinks from a regular shaker when you can pun it up?! Over to Holly…

I, Holly, love a good cocktail and a good pun. After starting to mess around with new cocktail recipes these last few months, I started collecting pretty shakers and there was just one thing missing…puns!

Naturally, shaking up a cocktail always makes me think of “Shake it Off” by Taylor Swift, so I thought it was the perfect line for making a simple punny cocktail shaker. With some colorful vinyl and my Cricut machine, this was really simple to make and adds a little humour to my drink-making.

Vinyl is a great craft supply for a variety of projects, and even though I used a cutting machine, you don’t necessarily need one. Just keep in mind it will require more work to cut with a knife. Here’s how to make a punny cocktail shaker of your own!

YOU WILL NEED:

Plastic cocktail shaker (I purchased this small one) // Colorful vinyl // Cutting machine OR alphabet stencil with craft knife // Cricut vinyl transfer tape //

STEP 1:

Wash and dry the shaker first.

MAKE YOUR OWN EMOJI HEART BACKDROP

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN EMOJI HEART BACKDROP FOR VALENTINES DAY (2)

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN EMOJI HEART BACKDROP FOR VALENTINES DAY (4)

I am so excited to share today’s DIY with you! You might recognise these hearts from our Emoji Heart Ice Bucket, but they are just so darn cute, I couldn’t help but turn them into a backdrop too because ‘why not?’, it’s Valentines!

I had this idea after sharing our fave backdrop ideas a couple of weeks back, as it suddenly occurred to me that we hadn’t really done a whole load of backdrop DIY’s here at Bespoke Bride, which is insane when you consider how expensive backdrops can be? So I am now determined to come up with a whole load of new backdrop ideas over the coming months and this is the first of many cute and budget friendly ideas!

As with the ice bucket this DIY uses vinyl which means it won’t leave any sticky marks or residue on your walls – great if you’re venue isn’t keen on the idea of using any kinds of adhesive. Plus the vinyl is really sturdy and will be sure to stay up for as long as your need. I created this statement wall in my office last week and I still have it up as it is just too cute to take down! So whether your want a temporary backdrop or a more permanent installation for your home, this DIY is for you.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN EMOJI HEART BACKDROP FOR VALENTINES DAY (3)

YOU WILL NEED

Vinyl (We used Cricut ‘Sunshine’ & ‘Flamingo’) | Cricut Explore (or you can cut the stencil’s out free hand if you don’t have one) | Emoji Heart Template 1 | Emoji Heart Template 2 |

STEP 1:

Upload the heart templates to the Cricut Design Space and resize to the size you want, I made mine in two sizes which were 10.5 inches and 7.5 inches , then I adjusted the size of the yellow sparkles to match. You’ll then want to duplicate the shapes as many times as you require to cover your wall.

STEP 2:

Place your ‘Flamingo’ vinyl onto your sticky mat and load into the machine, set your Cricut to cut vinyl and press ‘go’!

STEP 3:

Once your machine has finished cutting out all of the pink hearts, repeat step two with your yellow vinyl and allow it to cut out all of the sparkles. (more…)
