Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: My Little Pony

Did you just read that title and go ‘ARE THEY CRAZY?!’ The answer to that is potentially yes…but sometimes it’s fun to go a little crazy with our wedding themes, we all remember the Dr Seuss one don’t we?! Well I’d like to think that with a little hard work and an open mind a theme like could actually work AND look awesome at the same time!

The idea came to me when we had lunch with Emily from Fishee Designs last week, she turned up with a full on My Little Pony manicure and the light bulb in my head lit up! This one’s for you Fishee! Now, I’m not going to sit here and say that this would be an easy theme to pull off because there is very fine line between making this tacky and making this fabulously fun! You need just enough crazy colours, pastel schemes, ponies & unicorns to make this work…

We couldn’t very well do a gold inspiration board without following up with a silver one now could we? Personally, I don’t wear gold so silver is right up my street and I think it looks just as classy as the gold board! Just like before, classy doesn’t mean it needs to be an extravagant and expensive affair! Silver cake pops and a little costume jewellery bling could do the trick!

If you’re a regular reader of Bespoke Bride you’ll know that a few weeks ago I watched ‘We Bought A Zoo’ and kept banging on about it because I loved it so much! For those that haven’t seen it it’s a heart warming film about a family who buy a house that is situated on a zoo and as part of the home deal they have to restore and open the zoo. Now, I don’t know about you but I reckon I would flipping love living on a zoo! But how about getting married at a zoo?

Well, I think that would be pretty darn great too!

Throw away the apples, ditch the oranges, and forget the pears! It’s all about the berries baby! I LOVE berries and it’s just about to be their prime time in the spotlight, summer is on the horizon and I’ve got strawberries, raspberries and blueberries on my shopping list. So, how would berries work within a wedding? Pretty dam well I’d like to think…

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Aztec Inspired

Last night, while I sat down sipping on a sugary cup of tea, I had a flick through the H & M magazine that had arrived in the post. Bold Aztec prints were making a regular appearance which made me super happy! I LOVE AZTEC. It reminds me of Mexico and has that cool edge that you just can’t get from pretty florals!

I felt so inspired by all of the patterns that I got straight to work creating an Aztec inspiration board! Ok…I ordered a few tops firsts…

Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Arabian Nights

Last week while I was writing my post on what I would do if I was in New York I decided I would get all cliche and watch the Sex And The City movie at the same time, however I couldn’t find the first one in my ridiculous DVD collection so I dug out the second one! You know the one where the girls go to Abu Dhabi, well, you know you’re becoming a little obsessed with styling when you start taking note of the decor over the story line! I just couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous colours and Arabian schemes! Then, bingo…you guessed it! I got all inspired to create an Arabian Nights inspiration board. (classic Gemini trait of getting distracted by other ideas too easily!)

Arabian schemes tend to feature an array of colours but the ones that were most striking to me were the golds, dark purples and splashes of orange! See for yourself…

I may be going a little crazy here and I’m definitely not known to eat all my vegetables in life but I’ve got in my head that having an earthy/vegetable themed wedding could potentially be really cool! Think about it for a second….those deep greens and vibrant coloured food goodies could really brighten up the day instead of using flowers! Plus gardeners and vegetarians alike would probably love it and needless to say no one would go hungry…
