A Suit That Fits: What Cloth to Choose for your Groom’s Suit?

Following their previous blogs on how to personalise small details for your groom, and their guide to finding your perfect wedding suit, bespoke tailoring company A Suit That Fits are back again to give you a few hints and tips on how to know what cloth to choose for your Groom’s suit!

There are lots of cool details to choose from when your Groom’s designing his new bespoke suit; but one of the most important of those is the cloth he chooses – this will affect the entire look and feel of the suit. The first thing to think about is what time of the year you’re getting married and go from there:

Summer wedding

If you’re getting married in the summer months, the weather’s likely to be warm (and perhaps a little muggy). To start with, he should choose a lightweight cloth – we’d recommend mohair – it’s made from the hair of the Angora goat, it’s light and breathable whilst remaining a resilient, long lasting cloth. Otherwise, a lightweight wool is great too (it does what it says on the tin – with all the qualities of its heavier counterpart, there is not as much of it to lug about – leaving you feeling fresh as a daisy.)
