Orange, Pink, Yellow? Which Diamond Would you Pick to Symbolise your Relationship?
I don’t know about you but I’m a huge fan of finding out the meanings and symbols of different things, what does my name mean, does it symbolize anything? What are the classic traits of a Gemini? And as a little girl one of my most prized possessions was my mood ring. I loved how it would change colour and then give me the excitement of running to my little book of colours to find out what that current colour meant. I’ve come a long way since then with my mood ring but when it comes to choosing one permanent coloured diamond, I would love to look down at that beautiful ring on my finger and not only see love but also see the traits that the chosen colour represents! Wouldn’t you love that too? To know your ring symbolises strength, or hope or joy?
Well if you love colours as much as me then stay with me because we’ve teamed up with 77 Diamonds to reveal all of the meanings behind their beautiful diamonds and we want to know which one is your favourite!
The Sapphire: Although sapphires come in many colours, only blue sapphires are classified as just a “sapphire” – it’s pink counterpart is called “pink sapphire”. Traditionally associated with nobility and honesty, it was symbol of wealth during the 18th and 19th centuries but is also commonly represented as peace, spirituality and good health.
The Orange Diamond: A pure orange diamond is actually the rarest fancy colour of all diamonds as many usually have a secondary colour to them. They are formed when boron is present during the formation of the stone and its symbolic meaning is courage. It is also known to represent energy and enthusiasm!
The Red Diamond: The most valuable of all diamond colours, red diamonds are rare and scarcely available on the diamond market and only 30 natural red diamonds are known to exist! The symbolic meaning of a red diamond is strength and confidence.
The Brown Diamond: Often referred to as a champagne or cognac diamond, brown diamonds are formed when nitrogen is present during the formation of the diamond. A brown diamond is said to aid the wearer with inner strength and its symbolic meaning is humility as well as a symbol of being connected with the earth and nature.
The Pink Diamond: The chemical reason for a pink diamond is still unknown (which makes it even more exciting!) however its beauty is greatly appreciated. With a symbolic meaning of joy, a pink diamond is one sought after fancy colours on the diamond market. It’s also known to represent creativity, love and romance.
The Yellow Diamond: Yellow diamonds are the most commonly found of all fancy colours and have helped to create some of the world’s most iconic and beautiful jewellery. Similar to brown diamonds they are formed with the presence of nitrogen during formation and the symbolic meaning is hope, friendship and happiness.
They are all so beautiful right? I think my favourite is the yellow diamond; I just love the idea of having a constant reminder of hope, friendship and happiness every single day!
