Talk about making your wedding personal! Nat and Ryan decided to DIY as much as their wedding as they possible could, even the dress was a DIY! So were the shoes, the invitations, the decorations, I could go on, but I feel it’s better for you to see for yourself! Then enjoy this wonderful couple’s story at the bottom as they tell you all about how they (quite literally) created the wedding of their dreams…
As I sit here watching the wind and rain batter the trees outside I am reminded that summer is well and truly over. If you are anything like me you are in dire need of a little something to remind you of the warmer months. Well never fear as Darren Mack Photography is here with this summery handmade wedding up his sleeve, perfect for brightening up a day such as this!
This wedding has got to be up there with one of the BEST DIY weddings I’ve ever seen!! Ken & Eliza really went to town on incorporating their own personalities into their wedding day, not only did they signify their Chinese roots but they also expressed their love for Japanese culture, gave nods to travelling the world, books and even had a ton of games for their guests; i’m talking bouncy castle, tug of war and even…painting the bride and groom! Yep you heard me, think guests with paint filled water pistols! A-mazing.
Tash and Ed were keen to avoid an ‘off the shelf’ wedding and since their home county is famous for Glastonbury it only felt right to give a nod in the festival direction when it came to their decor! Cue the awesome lanyards, fence signs, bunting and even a DIY bar! Plus say a big hello to their adorable dog Jaeger!
Jack and Naomi shared a love of two things; the outdoors and partying, so when it came to planning their wedding day they just knew the most important thing was to do the things they loved, with the people they loved which resulted in plenty of partying in a field with beautiful yurts and friends playing the guitar. Oh and the bride arrived in a tractor! AMAZING! What makes this wedding even more special though is that most of it was put together by their family and friends! Over to Naomi to tell you more…
Oh my days, if you love a rustic garden wedding then trust me when I say you’re going to love Katrina & Jason’s wedding! As if the picnic baskets wasn’t cute enough, they also printed off lots of gorgeous, vintage labels to wrap around cans and had parents create pretty bunting for the decor and handy bread boards for the tables! This is one DIY wedding you don’t want to miss…
Seriously, how beautiful is that above photo? It reminds me of The Notebook. You know the one…that scene on the lake….it get’s me every time! ANYWAY, that isn’t Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams, it’s in fact Ashley and Mark who’s fun filled summer camp wedding won us over from the get go, as if it wasn’t amazing enough to have lots of little doggies running around they also had singing guests, Jenga & a whole bundle of family fun! See for yourself…
Adara and Tom’s wedding is simply beautiful. The couple were deeply inspired by natural beauty, something I myself have a huge appreciation for and this certainly reflected in their ethereal style wedding.
The brides floral crown, her barefeet, the handmade wedding arch, the natural beauty of the venue and the fact that the couple invited their dog to be part of their special day, are just some of the details that made this wedding one of my favourites of this year!
I also love the that the couple totally embraced the naturally rustic surroundings for their portraits, who would have thought some old beaten pianos would make such a beautiful accessory….
Glastonbury themed tables, starry night sky, Dorothy shoes and an album/sugar skull/puddle wellies cake can only equal one thing. An incredibly awesome wedding! Oh and did we mention the groom and his groomsmen zip lined in? True story. Ladies and gents, brace yourselves because this is one hell of a beautiful wedding…
Are you ready for this!
Rob and Georgie would best describe their day as natural, outdoorsy and colourful and to be perfectly honest that is exactly as I would describe it with an added sprinkling of fun and laughter. It has such a laid back boho vibe with the hand picked wild flowers and natural decor combined with the beautiful surroundings of the Chew Valley Lake.
What I admire most about this couple is their passion for looking after the environment and sustainability with biodegradable confetti, homemade cordials and donations to an environmental charity… Sounds like these guys would be my best friends!
Over to the beautiful bride to tell you all about the special day!
We held our ceremony at the Chew Valley Lake, we always knew that we wanted an outdoor location so when we heard about the tipis at Chew Valley we had to pay it visit. Once I had seen the views overlooking the lake, I knew it was the right venue immediately – I loved it!
We wanted a venue where we were able to fulfill our dreams of a wedding that was outdoorsy, natural and colourful, so this venue was perfect for everything that we had planned. The tipis are in such an amazing location and we must thank Luke of Tipi Events for being so helpful, he was there for us throughout the build up and the whole day.Details
