For. Like. Ever! A Colourful Geometric Wedding in LA: Marie & Garth

Colourful Geometric Wedding in LA (31)

It is no secret that we are little obsessed with colour and geometric prints here at Bespoke Bride so when we were sent Marie and Garths chic LA wedding full of colour and Geometric sculptures, you can imagine our excitement. It was as though Bespoke Bride had been brought to life in a real life wedding!

It was love at first sight 12 years ago when Marie and Garth first met and they’ve been happily paired up ever since, making their home in the Highland Park area of Los Angeles, where they decided to make it official choosing a new, hip, local venue, The Fig House. Marie’s love of mod geometric shapes was showcased beautifully in her beaded Mara Hoffman gown and was mirrored in the brightly stained-glass windows and custom invitations as well as handcrafted geo shapes used to create tablescapes along with bright succulent gardens. An art print with the words ‘For.Like.Ever’ hangs in Marie and Garth’s home, and it naturally evolved to become their personal mantra for the wedding. It was used in their invitation wording, wedding website and mirrored cake topper. The cake was made by the mother of the groom, who transported the cakes (unfrosted!) and all of her cake decorating tools from the Pacific Northwest. Watching her put the finishing touches on the cake as guests began to arrive is one of my all time favorite wedding moments. It was real life performance art–so moving and sweet and an expression of her love for her son and soon-to-be daughter in law.

We asked Marie to tell us more…

A Creative DIY Wedding in Brooklyn: Lynsey & Carl

Lynsey and Carl Brooklyn Wedding-1026

Stood in front of the one of the worlds most famous landmarks, Lynsey and Carl were married at the East River State Park in Brooklyn, overlooked by the spectacular Manhattan skyline. This couple were incredibly lucky to have lots of help with what they described as the DIY wedding of the century. With lots of family and friends involved in the artistic community the couple were able to design their own Wedding stationery whilst friends helped with decor, entertainment and catering.

A Modern Chic Wedding Dressed in College Colours: Rachel & Justin

A Modern Chic Wedding Dressed in College Colours 1

For someone that isn’t very crafty, Rachel has done a fantastic job  of adding her own little DIY details. Disappointed with the lack of affordable table numbers and decor, she felt she had no choice but to try and make her own and the results turned out to be even better that shop bought, if you ask me?

The idea of using the colours of the college that they both attended was a genius idea, I would never of thought to look to history for a colour theme? Rachel also asked her uncle to be the officiant at her ceremony which I think makes this whole wedding even more personal and heartfelt. I have said it before and I will say it again it is not always the physical details that make a wedding bespoke, it’s the ideas behind them.

We asked Rachel to tell you more…

A Modern Wedding Dressed in Vintage Clothes: Katie & Evan

A Modern Wedding Dressed in Vintage Clothes 1

The fact that this wedding was held at an historic house, in one of my favourite cities in the whole entire world and the guests were given local honey as favours are just three reasons I am so in love with this wedding.

Katie and Evan held their wedding celebrations at Glessner House in Chicago Illinois, after looking through the gorgeous photography and reading Katie’s story I think you will find it hard to believe that the couple found this venue by accident. Some might say it was even fate! They totally fell  in love with the location, so much so, they used the house and much of its history to shape the theme of their day describing the day as a ‘modern wedding dressed in vintage clothes’.

What makes this wedding even more special is the involvement of  family and friends  as Katie and Evan wanted their family to not only be present but part of the day, there were also extra special little touches such as the idea of blessing stones, inspired by the couples Reverend – Anne, otherwise known as the ‘Rev for Whatev’ – I think we can all agree that has to be the coolest name for a reverend EVER!

Here is Katie to tell you more…
