 1. Floral… (Above)

At this point we struggle to narrow it down, fans of Anon might have noticed we love a good floral! I guess we’d bring to you our ‘Folkin Floral’ range. A relaxed vibe is created with a cool green natural textured background, layered with a folk floral wreath and a hand lettered style of typography. Bringing an uplifting outdoor style for a bright fresh wedding.

2. Mint Green…

Ah we’d have to feature our Oh Buoy’ range! We love a good chevron too and here we combine crisp mint green chevrons with deep navy blue nauticals. You could only follow up your nautical wedding with your honeymoon on a yacht in the South of France of course!

3. Gold…

thehamptons01

We feature a hint of gold in quite a few of our ranges or their alternatives. But most recently we’re loving our ‘The Hamptons’ range. Available in several different combinations, here we show you the gold version. A deep blue stripe with a strong gold accent through the scriptive typography. Lets face it, who wouldn’t want a summer in the Hamptons!

4. Colourful…

perfectly-floral01

A firm favourite at Anon is our ‘Perfectly Floral’ Invitation collection. Set on a chalkboard black background, the tropical florals really pop on this design. Giving a nice mix of vintage floral and bright bold super colourful illustrations. The typography is a mix of styles all set in clean white to gel them together and really jump out from the stand out black background.

“This collection is inspired by the simple beauty of nature. This is my truly unique collection, as every design uses an original work of art, hand-painted by me. The colors, the brush strokes, and the different techniques make each one completely different from anything else you’ll find. The Lilac and Peony feature a loose watercolor technique. The Roses are bold and bright in acrylic, and the Peacock shows off some flair—painted with shimmer paints.”

The eagle eyed among you may have noticed that we have had a new sponsor in our midst since November. We were introduced to Style and Joy through the powers of Twitter just before christmas and we instantly fell in love! Quite frankly the stationery is awesome and Miranda who is the founder, is one of the loveliest people I have had the pleasure of working with. Although we are still yet to meet, I know we would be an instant hit, as we share a similar sense of humour.

Anyway enough of our impending womance I would like to introduce you to Miranda from Style and Joy…

When did you become interested in designing stationery?

“My love for all things arty & crafty began when I was very young. Ever since I was little, I think I always knew I wanted to do something creative; to design & make. My education and training has always been design & art based, including my design degree in Silversmithing & Jewellery. For a number of years after that I worked as an independent contemporary jewellery  designer/maker, selling my wares to wonderful galleries and shops up and down the country (whilst working in a few too!) as well as exhibiting at various shows and selling directly online. I guess the turning point between jewellery & stationery began on Christmas day in 2010 when my boyfriend proposed, and I became immersed and excited in the joy and creative possibilities that weddings had to offer.

We had a very DIY village hall do, amongst other things I’d made all the stationery, favours & details and loved it. Friends & family were so complimentary (a bit biased maybe?!) that it boosted my confidence that this new idea of designing wedding stationery could be a possibility. Fortunately I had plenty of valuable experience of working for myself & running a little creative business to draw on. My jewellery making was still on the go, but a struggle to find suitable workshop space combined with plans to move after we got married made it seem the perfect time to try something new. Ideas & scribbles turned into actual designs, the designs turned into paper prettiness… hello Style & Joy!”

How Hollyhock Lane Began.

Once upon a time I did a fine art painting degree in Edinburgh, after graduating I started working as a graphic designer and illustrator. I found that I had this slightly weird combination of skills that was never quite, completely satisfied in my day to day work, because I never got to do the really creative work that I craved. It was when I was getting married in 2009 and I created the stationery for our own wedding, that it got me thinking about how unimaginative much of the wedding stationery market was (especially back then). I realised that designing wedding stationery could be the perfect excuse for me to combine my talents and do something really creative by creating stationery that was a bit different from the norm.
