Happy Monday Folks! I have been so excited to share this pretty darn awesome shoot with you today! It features the most amazing black and white stripe bridal gown, I can’t even…!
First things first, I just want to say that in no way could we ever be as good at decorating cakes as the epic Katherine Sabbath is, but since it’s my birthday today we thought we would give it a dam good go! These were the colourful results and if anything it’s a cake that Katy Perry herself would be proud of! If you’d like to have a go at making your own inspired cake then here’s how you can do it….
YOU WILL NEED:
A four tier cake in whatever flavour you like with a crumb coat. (you can learn how to crumb coat here) // 500g butter // 1k icing sugar // Splash of milk // food colouring (we chose pink and blue but the blue turned out green!) // 200g chopped white chocolate // 200ml double cream // Sprinkles, sweets and lollipops for decoration //
The first thing you need to do is whip up your buttercream! So whisk together your butter (softened is easer) with your icing sugar until light and fluffy then gradually add in your food colouring until you’re happy with the colour.
Using a knife or a spatula, apply your buttercream to the entire of your cake making it as smooth as possible. We did the sides first then finished off on the top of the cake. Once you’re done pop your cake in the fridge for an hour.Details
