About 1

Hello! I’m Emily and I live in the picturesque Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire with my boyfriend Matthew and our three cats Mr Popo, Chichi & Gohan, if you hadn’t noticed I have a bit of weird obsession with Japanese cartoon names! I have a thing for polka dot dresses; I have them in shades of blue, yellow, red, orange, white and black. I am passionate about positivity, I giggle a lot and I love to sing!

Jess and I began Bespoke Bride in 2011 when at the time I was planning for my own wedding and so was quickly becoming obsessed with wedding pretty. Due to rather unforeseen circumstances my wedding had to be cancelled but I just couldn’t tear myself away from writing for the blog. Some may think this slightly obsessive or weird but I wanted others to see the weddings that I had began to fall in love with, those that were handmade, creative, personalised and completely original.

Not many people know this but…

I graduated with a Degree in Animal Biology & Ecology last year.

My biggest weakness is…

not being able to relax and just turn off. I would love to be able to take time to just think of nothing.

My perfect evening would be…

getting dressed up and going for a delicious meal.

My biggest regret is…

I don’t have regrets, I treat all experiences as a test of my character.

The best thing my parents taught me…

was how to budget. If you can’t afford it, you can’t have it!

If I can I avoid…

Negative people or situations.

The shop I can’t walk past without buying something is…

Vinegar Hill, I love buying shabby chic and retro bits and bobs for my house!

My favourite place is…

anywhere I can relax and have fun!

Meet Jess:

About 2

Hey you! I’m Jess, lover of all things colourful, unique & creative! I love collecting beautiful books, eating Italian food and the feeling of sand between my toes! I have a terrible habit of not being able to say no to clothes (hence why I rarely go shopping and delete any emails named 25% off at Asos!) You’ll often see me with a camera in my hands and travelling is one of my favourite things to do (I have one of those big ol’ wall maps and I intend to stick as many pins in it as I can!) I too am passionate about positivity and really believe that keeping your mind and attitude positive can have huge effects on your life!

My last meal would be…

A big fat Sunday roast dinner covered in mint sauce!

My Nicknames are…

Turley, Turlz, Jessykins, Jessypoo, Fatima (don’t ask!)

My fashion must have is…

Anything colourful! I love dressing up in awesomely bright colours, it makes me feel happy.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be?

I am huge fan of Michael Jackson and I really wish I could have seen him perform live; it was always a dream of mine! I would also love to meet Nick Vujicic, I think he’s an incredibly inspiring person.

My favourite place is…

Mexico. I’ve been going almost every year since I was 13 and cannot express the beauty of the country and the people who live there!

The one thing I would want with me if I were stranded on a desert island is…

Bear Grylls! Or my boyfriend! Who else is going to build the boat and get me back off the island?!

My biggest weakness is…

Salt n Vinegar crisps…I’ve also been told that I’m too trusting of people and that that’s a weakness? But I quite like that about myself.

My perfect evening would be…

On a yacht, watching the sunset. That’s not demanding at all is it!

What’s your favourite quote?

Eek that’s hard! There’s SO MANY I love. Ok, I’m going to choose two: “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”- Marilyn Monroe and ‘Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it” – Roald Dahl

Official Bio:

Bespoke Bride was lovingly created by Emily Pettiford and Jessica Turley in the winter of 2011. At first the blog was a fun way for Emily to plan her wedding and for friend Jessica to collate ideas for her upcoming venture into the world of wedding photography. It wasn’t long before writing for the blog became their passion. Now Bespoke Bride hosts a plethora of ideas, inspiration and advice all topped off with a sprinkling of character.

Bespoke Bride isn’t just another bridal blog, it is a simple way to inspire couples to create a wedding day that is unique, customised and full of personality.
