THIS BRIGHT & COLOURFUL TROPICAL WEDDING INSPIRATION IS A REAL MOOD BOOSTER
If you’re looking for a little something to boost your mood on this cold and wet morning (typical British weather) then you’ve come to the right place. This tropical-themed micro wedding inspiration with its bright fuchsia, teal and green colours will be sure to make you smile.
“For this shoot, we wanted to inspire couples that you can still take a trip to paradise without having to go very far from home and to not be afraid to embrace colour.” Stylist & Planner, Danielle told us.
“In the spirit of taking inspiration from everywhere and after Jovani Rosborough, owner and photographer at Bold as Love Studios visited a few years ago, St. Lucia, with its strong cultural flair, melodic local accents, and bright colourful houses – was the perfect mood board for the vivid dream that came to life for this lush, tropical-themed styled shoot.”
“The sky is the limit when it comes to wedding colours—every couple is unique, and vibrant colours can be a great palette for couples who have a bold personality and really want that to shine on their wedding day,” says Jo.
Danielle from Grandest Gatherings worked closely with Jo to bring her vision to life and meticulously styled every intentional detail the day of the shoot with this talented vendor team.
“We wanted to bring the tropics to an industrial venue in a modern and fresh way. Starting with a bright white canvas, inside one of Metro Boston’s favourite venues, The Tannery Loft, was a perfect surface to showcase the beautiful, tropical florals and greenery designed by Britni Jeziorski of Two Stems of Joy. No detail was forgotten from the florals that adorned the bright yellow hand-painted cake by Caseylyn Cakes, to the fresh tropical fruits like mangos and passion fruits typically found on St. Lucia, to the custom-built multi-hexagonal Arbor made by Uniquely Chic Vintage Rentals.”
“From the contrast of the white walls and mismatched rattan chairs at the tablespace to the colourful hand-lettered stationery pieces by Pencil and Ink Design, to the hand-painted turquoise cake table with leaves of palm on hand-painted cookies, everything was beyond eye-catching. Jo from Bold As Love Studios captured strong angles and vibrant colours playing off softer materials like velvet, palm leaves, and organic florals. For the tablescape, we wanted to push the envelope on utilizing vintage mismatched dinnerware in a more modern way. Each place setting was set with a vintage china plate and flatware alongside eclectic drinkware anchored by a palm charger. The dreamy lounge area was decked out with a statement peacock chair and side table that were also decorated with the tropical flowers and the bride and groom, a real-couple Ben and Valerie, married for five years, were invited to kick their feet back on the gorgeous vintage velvet blue sofa. The best part? The sign hanging above the seating reading ‘It was all a dream’.”
“We want to inspire brides to not be afraid to use colour with this shoot.” Danielle continued.
“When used harmoniously, vivid colours can add so much to your entire wedding atmosphere, especially if you’re working with a blank canvas.”
While it may seem intimidating to work with so many different bright hues, here’s a pro styling tip from Danielle Rand at Grandest Gatherings:
“Match the small things (i.e. flatware and candlesticks, place cards and florals, lip colour and tie colour.) It will make those tiny bits pop just the right way and add dimension to your overall palette. Using fuchsia as our base colour for this shoot, we intentionally carried it throughout the design from the bride’s earrings, to her block heels, to her handmade earrings by Hupo Designs, to the groom’s tie to the table runner, to the paper good accents. It helped keep our palette streamlined while still being able to bring in those other pops of colour in a cohesive way.”
“We loved this bold approach to an industrial wedding venue. It was a festive, breath of fresh air that took a team of talent to pull off!”
