Whimsical Outdoor candles wedding garden intimate_-64

A candlelit dinner under the starts, surrounded by their closest friends and a whole bunch of love was exactly what Jenny & Brock had envisioned when they were planning their day! This entire wedding is so magical and who could’t love a night that ended with singing, dancing & delicious s’mores by the campfire?!

CHEVRONS, SUCCULENTS & ONE EPIC VW CAMPER

Retro campervan hippie wedding with chevrons & succulents-39

My favourite types of weddings are ones where the couple have really gone to town to tell their love story throughout their wedding, the ones where subtle nods are given to mile stones and favourite moments are reflected within the decor! That’s exactly what Nicole & Juan did from their hippy van where it all began to a bouquet made from brooches collected over time and so much more…

HOW TO NOT LET A HURRICANE RUIN YOUR WEDDING DAY: REBECCA & DAMIAN

Carnival Wedding Balloon Heart Arch

So what do you do if a hurricane suddenly hits your wedding venue just weeks after you have decided on it. Well you up and move it all to your backyard of course! After Hurricane Sandy demolished Rebecca and Damian seaside venue they decided to renovate their whole backyard and host the wedding there instead. Pretty extreme some might think, but I agree with this couple when they say it will be a memory that they get to keep forever!

CLOSE KNIT FAMILY & FRIENDS MAKE THIS A WEDDING TO REMEMBER: JON & LAUREN

Close Knit Family & Friend DIY Wedding, Bride with Purple Petticoat (35)

I am totally psyched to be sharing todays wedding with you! I don’t care what you are doing, you simply must drop everything and check this out, trust me you won’t be sorry! First the bride, Lauren, is wearing the most epic purple petticoat, which can you believe was worn by her grandmother many years before. As if that wasn’t enough the DIY details are phenomenal, especially the multicoloured cake that was baked by none other than the bride’s aunt and last but certainly not least I would like you to take a guess at what theme tune this bride decided to walk down the aisle too (Hint: Another install of this prehistoric release will be hitting your screens in May!). When you have finished  I want you read through and marvel at Laurens creativity and her best friends talents.

A Glitterific, Scientific, Museum Wedding: Sophie & Nick

Glitter & Science Manchester Musuem Wedding (23)

When it comes to planning my own wedding there are two things that are on my ‘must have’ list and these are glitter and animals, so todays wedding wins double points as it features both! I am totally in love with the venue the couple chose to get married at Manchester Museum which is pretty much my dream venue as it has its very own Vivarium dedicated to the conservation of reptiles. The couple also accessorized with lots of  handmade details including giving the guests Observer guides as favours and using a giant copy of the Orion Nebula as a seating chart. Not only that the guests got to handle some of the creatures from the Vivarium which I have to admit, made me a little jel, see for yourself…

A Handcrafted Nautical Wedding: Jenni & Paul

A Nautical themed DIY Wedding (18)

“Oh I do like to be beside the seaside, I do like to be beside the sea!”

Ahem sorry I couldn’t help myself! I am most happiest when I am on a beach and surprisingly British seasides have to be up there as one of my favourite places to visit. There is something so quaint about eating fish and chips from a traditional chippy whilst overlooking the sea so it is no surprise to me that Jenni and Paul wanted to include a little bit of old fashioned seaside fun on their wedding day.

We invited Jenni to tell us all about her nautical themed wedding along with her many DIY projects including the best maritime seating plan I have ever seen!

A Laid-back & Handmade, Backyard Wedding: Sarah & Mark

A Handmade & Laid-back Backyard Wedding in a Tipi (28)

I realise it is now autumn and the days of tipi’s and garden parties are just a distant memory, but today’s wedding is just too darn pretty to not share right away! Firstly I adore the bridesmaids two pieces! The blush toned maxi skirts and lace tops are a gorgeous combination, something I could definitely see myself wearing. Second the brides 1920’s inspired gown is totally dreamy, it shimmers from head to toe and I am in love with the statement sleeve!

It was all about imagination for Sarah and Mark, two talented creative business owners who were passionate about injecting their own personality and talents into their day. To reflect this they  pretty much handmade all their details including the stationery, decor and favours with a little help from friends and family! Lets not also forget to mention the delicious array of handmade beverages from lavender lemonade and ‘Sham-pagne’ to every girls favourite – lots and lots of Pimms!

Over to Sarah to tell you more…

A Fun Filled DIY Wedding with a Nod To Chinese Roots, Japanese Culture, Travelling & Games!

elizaken_©bigbouquet112

This wedding has got to be up there with one of the BEST DIY weddings I’ve ever seen!! Ken & Eliza really went to town on incorporating their own personalities into their wedding day, not only did they signify their Chinese roots but they also expressed their love for Japanese culture, gave nods to travelling the world, books and even had a ton of games for their guests; i’m talking bouncy castle, tug of war and even…painting the bride and groom! Yep you heard me, think guests with paint filled water pistols! A-mazing.
