MAKE YOUR OWN FUN SLOGAN SANTA SACK THIS CHRISTMAS!

Since arriving home from Sri Lanka, we’ve been busy getting ready for the holidays. Much of Christmas day this year will be spent visiting our family and friends to exchange gifts. I’ve mentioned how I take extra pride creative gift wrapping before, but this year as I’ll be doing a lot of travelling with gifts I wanted to make sure all my hard wasn’t wasted by just stuffing presents in a boring old carrier bag. So, I decided to be super organised and make my own personalised Santa Sack. I have been desperate to try cutting material with the new Cricut Maker and thought this would a good time to really put it to the test by using everyone’s favourite fabric, FELT!

For as long as I’ve been using the Cricut, you always had to stabilize felt with an iron on stabilizer such as Heat N’ Bond before cutting with a deep cut blade but with the Maker that’s all changed. Now you are able to cut felt using just a strong grip mat and the new rotary blade, so was it really  as simple as that?? It really was!

SHOW OFF YOUR ENAMEL PINS WITH THIS FUNKY DIY WREATH!

When it came to deciding our wreath DIYS last year we had two ideas one mind, one candy covered wreath and one sequin holographic wreath and I loved how both of them turned SO MUCH! They were definitely two of my favourite Christmas tutorials we had ever created, talk about a statement door piece right?! Anyway, this year when brainstorming wreath ideas I was struggling with something that could better last years, then I started to think about what had been really trendy this year….and it hit me! Pins! What a freaking awesome way to display all of your pins this Christmas than on their very wreath?!

YOU WILL NEED:

A polystyrene wreath // Craft paint in the colours of your choice // A big selection of pins* //

*All of the epic ones you can see in these photos are from Punky Pins and they literally have over 180 pins to choose from! My favourite is that adorable gingerbread house! And don’t get me started on how darn cute the christmas presents are!

Ok, let’s talk about Christmas movies for a second! What’s your favourite?! Which one really gives you all the Christmas feels?! For me, it’s Home Alone and Love Actually but maybe you’re more of a Elf kinda person? Or maybe you prefer the classics like It’s a Wonderful Life! There’s SO MANY good ones am I right?!

Here’s a fun fact for you though, Emily has never watched Home Alone or Elf!! Can we all just take a second to process that?! I mean WHAATT?! I know what you’re thinking, how are the two of you even friends right now?! Well, I’m going to have to kidnap her this Christmas and force her to watch them haha in fact, I might just whip up a batch of this vegan hot chocolate while I’m there and make a fun Christmas themed evening of it! Complete with Elf quote mugs of course! Here’s how you can make your own…

YOU WILL NEED: (SERVES 4)

  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk // 3 Tbsp cocoa powder // 1 tsp pure maple syrup // 1/4 tsp. pure vanilla extract // 1 pinch ground cinnamon // 1 pinch sea salt //
  • Plain white mugs // Elf quote vinyl stickers* //

* If you’d rather make the Elf quote vinyl stickers instead of buying them then of course you can! You just need a cutting machine like the Cricut Maker and vinyl in the colour of your choice, simply type in the quotes you want it cut out in the Cricut Design space and let the machine cut them out for you! Alternatively, if you’d like to cut this step out then you can just purchase the stickers here.
