MAKE YOUR OWN FUN SLOGAN SANTA SACK THIS CHRISTMAS!

Since arriving home from Sri Lanka, we’ve been busy getting ready for the holidays. Much of Christmas day this year will be spent visiting our family and friends to exchange gifts. I’ve mentioned how I take extra pride creative gift wrapping before, but this year as I’ll be doing a lot of travelling with gifts I wanted to make sure all my hard wasn’t wasted by just stuffing presents in a boring old carrier bag. So, I decided to be super organised and make my own personalised Santa Sack. I have been desperate to try cutting material with the new Cricut Maker and thought this would a good time to really put it to the test by using everyone’s favourite fabric, FELT!

For as long as I’ve been using the Cricut, you always had to stabilize felt with an iron on stabilizer such as Heat N’ Bond before cutting with a deep cut blade but with the Maker that’s all changed. Now you are able to cut felt using just a strong grip mat and the new rotary blade, so was it really¬† as simple as that?? It really was!

DIY COLOURFUL SNOWFLAKE WREATH

A Christmas wreath is the perfect staple piece of decoration to brighten up any door, especially when you use bright colours like in our DIY snowflake one! Today’s wreath is SO easy to make but since the snowflakes are made out of colourful cardstock we recommend this be an indoor wreath (trust us, it looks just as cute on the inside PLUS that means you get to see it every time you walk past the front door!)

YOU WILL NEED:

A Cricut Explore // Polystyrene wreath // Craft paint in the colour of your choice (I went for pastel pink // A paintbrush // Colourful card // A glue gun //

STEP 1:

Paint your wreath in a colour that matches one of your cardstock colours, so that when there are gaps in the snowflakes showing through you’ll see colour instead of white polystyrene. Allow to fully dry.

STEP 2:

Open up the Cricut design space and under the image section, search ‘snowflake’ (this will give you over 580 results since the design space is THAT GOOD for images but just pick a simple one for this project.
