RAINFOREST WEDDING INSPIRATION FOR COLOUR OBSESSED BRIDES
Dream team Kelly L’Esperance (of Miss Fleur Floral) and Grace Hill (of Photography by Grace Hill) love working together to create new and exciting ideas! After following Rock the Frock Bridal’s Instagram and coming across the gorgeous blue dip-dye dresses by the fabulous Lucy Can’t Dance, they just had reach out to her to see if she fancied partnering up for our crazy colourful ideas and this my friends is the result, a tropical rainforest bridal editorial.
“The theme for this shoot was to focus the entire shoot around the makeup, dress and colour, playing on these three elements and tying them together to evoke something you might see in Vogue!” Began Grace.
“We wanted to challenge the traditional conventions of being a bride to be, and rather wanted to appeal to the quirkier, more upbeat bride. Think, the kind of bride with sass and empowerment – we wanted a ’This Girl Can’ kind of lady! A strong woman, one who could hold her own.”
“The inspiration for the entire shoot was based solely on Lucy Can’t Dance’s ‘Ziggy Stardust’ dress, the orange dip-dye number you see at the end of the shoot. The orange dip-dye was something I had never seen before in any bridal wear, and Lucy, just like her dresses, are for confident brides who want to break the mould.”
“As vendors, we were very fortunate in that Writtle University College, allowed us to shoot with them in their tropical greenhouses. However, locations like this can often take hard work or a case of ‘knowing the right people’ to get access to – which can’t always be easy when you’re a bride in a sea of wedding planning conundrums! So, my advise as a prospective bride, would be that it is always worth reaching out to strange or unusual venues to see if they may let you hold a ceremony there first. The worst they can say is no, and you could always hold a ceremony and later have an official wedding ceremony at a registry office for example.”
