THIS FUN LAKE TAHOE WEDDING HAS ALL THE COLOURS!
Jaime and Roger are a couple that LOVE COLOR and everything about the outdoors of Lake Tahoe, the beautiful place in which they both live, work and play. So, it was no surprise that a beach/lakefront ceremony was a MUST, along with partying with all their local friends and family at Basecamp Tahoe South, a boutique outdoor lifestyle hotel in the heart of downtown south lake Tahoe.
The couple dined on tacos alfresco, while drinking fresh margaritas and sangria in the personalized mugs that all guests received at their place settings. There was every color of vintage glassware and candles on the guests rustic picnic tables that were adorned with bright colored runners!
There was ping pong, corn hole, and a photo booth for guests to entertain themselves and the LOVE sign that lit up the outdoors and could be seen by all!
“As a wedding professional and a local, I wanted a place where I hadn’t already seen a ton of weddings.” Began Jaime.
“We decided on our venue because we loved the open, grassy area, air stream trailer and its overall industrial look with bright pops of color and soft, cafe lighting with fire pits. It was very comfortable and inviting.”
“When anyone asked what our colors or theme was, our answer was always “ALL the colors! ALL the themes!”. We both love color and we just wanted people to be comfortable and have a good time. As our friend who married us said in his speech, “this group never needs a reason to party”.
Being in the wedding industry, we wondered if this helped Jaime with decision making process when it come to hiring suppliers for her own wedding?
“I work with some amazing vendors and I could have gone with so many and been incredibly happy.” She explained.
“But our final decisions on vendors were really based on the personal relationships. It was fun working with them all summer and seeing all the great things each one would create for different events; it was like 3D pinterest.”
“Although, DIY’ing was one thing I said I wouldn’t do!” She laughed.
“I see brides all the time that give themselves too much to do and the stress on their face the day of the wedding is visible. I wanted everything taken care of and my wedding planner, did an amazing job of taking all the details I handed her (the day before the wedding!) and working her magic.”
“I did do most of the planning and my fiancé had a lot of input, but as a wedding professional, I kinda knew what would work and what wouldn’t… like the mini pony and fire dancers he wanted to have! Although I kind of wish we would have had them now, ha ha”
“During meetings at the venue, I would usually sit him in a sunny corner with a beer and he was happy to do his own thing. Other than that, I really let my vendors have free reign planning and designing.”
The couple described their day as perfect and had an amazing day, with no fears but they did encounter some worries beforehand as Jaime explains…
“My mom was really sick and almost missed the wedding which was awful, but she was such a trooper and managed to make it. Our Best Man was also diagnosed with cancer, a month and half before our wedding. He was going through aggressive chemotherapy during our wedding weekend, but thankfully he had the energy to make it to our ceremony and the reception – He gave the BEST MAN Speech of the year!! People were on the floor hysterically laughing, we were so grateful!! Better yet, today he is in FULL remission!”
