We Visit the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza… Its All about EWE.
Wow!! We have had a very busy weekend, two wedding fairs in two days and lots of mingling with some awesome businessess and personalities in the wedding industry.
Sunday was the first ever Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza organised by the lovely Sassy of Assassynation, Jo from the Couture Company and Vikki of Liliia (both of whom will be having their amazing dresses featured on Fashion Friday over the following weeks so keep your eyes out).
And as promised the show was very EWE-nique (see what we did there?). First we paid Victorian Gothic designer Michelle, a visit at her beautifully creative stand, where there was a mini theater complete with all the dresses that couldn’t make it to the show.
Can we just say this is one awesome lady, the dress (not worn) you can see on the left hand side of this picture was made on Wednesday. Yes she really is that amazing at designing and making wedding dresses!
Next up was the famous Restoration Cake with their beautifully handmade lace effect icing. Now that takes some talent! We highly recommend you try their red velvet cake, it was just so yum!
One of our favourite exhibitors of the day had to be Little Ruby Red with their unqiue custom made wedding toppers. Cat woman and Batman frolicking on top of a wedding cake made our day but we thought a little to rude for all your sensitive eyes, so we thought we would show you this rockabilly style one instead, which is still uber cool anyway 😀
We headed on over to Natasha Jane with her charming collection of bespoke headwear and bridal handbands each with a touch of golden age glamour.
By now we had started to get a little hungry so we headed over to the cafe for a spot of lunch where we were treated to some sweets from Ava Event Styling. Check out there cute centre pieces too!
Oh and look who we met on our travels… the one and only Rock and Roll Bride, aka Kat Williams.
After replenishing ourselves with Vimto and sweets (that’s the diet of wedding bloggers right there!) we set about looking at the many more awesome exhibitors. Next was the Black Cherry Cake Company aka the Little Cherry Cake Company. Literally these guys can make a cake for anyone, in their own words they can design for the “alternative and twisted or the pretty and fun”, we especially loved ED.
Cabinets of Curiosity are unique event stylers that had us squeeling with excitement as we perused through their many vintage decorations and designs.
We also got tres excited at Things by Laura, a craft geek who loves weddings and is now dedicated to making other couples realise their crafty vision.
If you read our blog often then you will know that we are huge fans of companies being environmentally friendly and recycling so imagine our excitement when we met Jamball, with their button and felt bridal creations. If your looking for an alternative bouquet or decorations for you wedding then you should take a look at their innovatave and quirky designs.
We had to stop and have a natter with Emma Lucy the owner of Emma Lucy Photography before we left. She is just a beautiful ball of energy and we would highly reccomend her as her work is just darn brilliant, and look how cool her stand was!
Our final stop was at the stand of Catriona Faulkner, a very taleneted woman who sees the beauty within objects that are mundane or have been discarded. Instead she makes them into dramtatic pieces of wearable art perfect for a special occasion, and what’s a more special occasion than your wedding day?
Before we left we went and had a quick chat with Sassy one of the show’s organisors who told us that at the end of the day she would be getting together with the other organisors to chat about how the show went and vote on whether or not to hold the show again. Well we can tell you ladies now, we vote for a big fat YES! Pretty please can we see EWE again!!!
Much Bespoke Love
