Off the Record: Cosmo, Cake & Cocktails!!!
Oh my good golly gosh! What a week! I feel like I haven’t had any time to just sit back and take stock of just how amazing it has been. We have done so much travelling but my goodness has it been worth it! If you follow us on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook you will definitely not have missed that Tuesday night we headed off to the Cosmopolitan Magazine blog awards, where we were nominated for ‘Best Wedding Blog’. We never in our wildest dreams imagined that we would be heading to anything like this so we were so honoured to have been shortlisted and be in the company of some of the industries biggest blogs. Although we didn’t receive any awards, we are still hugely thankful for your support. These types of things are a huge boost for morale and it just reassures us that we might actually be doing kind of ok at this blogging malarky 😀
The event was such a blast but to top it off we were invited to the Mondrian Hotel to have our hair and makeup done by Remington which made the night even more special! Then we made our way over to the OXO Tower where the awards were being held. The venue was a corker, overlooking the Thames, the dazzling lights of London illuminating the dark skies. It all felt very glam! There were cocktails galore, cakes, eyelashes, gold and silver tattoos and nails! If you were a guy at this thing then there was errrr….canapes? Which by far were the best canapes I have ever tasted! The outfits were totally glam and everyone was so so friendly it was such a pleasure to be there! I could seriously gush about it all day!
Today isn’t any less cray as we head back to London for the Wedding Blog Awards at the Savoy, where we are nominated for ‘Best DIY Wedding Blog’, so please keep all your fingers and toes crossed and be sure to watch the hashtag #weddingblogawards on Twitter and Instagram for the all the latest news as it unfolds!

EMILY LOVES…
♥ Starting the week by being invited to visit the wonderful Chosen Wedding Fair at the Paintworks in Bristol, followed by Arnos Vale’s open day which was just over the road. First the Chosen Fair was amazing, every single exhibitor was fab and we discovered our new favourite sweet treats in the form of cocktail lollies from Cocktail Natives, they were seriously scrummy! We must also mention what an absolutely gorgeous venue Arnos Vale is. We were totally blown away! The woodland venue is so so so pretty, you would never guess it was in the middle of Bristol and now they are also offering twilight woodland weddings! I have a feeling it is going to be very popular!!
♥ Being invited to have our hair and makeup done professionally by Remington – I felt like a celeb for just a few minutes and it was bliss!
♥ Catching up with old faces, meeting new and making new friends!
♥ Completely and utterly letting my hair down! We dont go out often and if you were anywhere near us at the awards you could probably tell! There were free cocktails and we had to take advantage, its only right, right?
♥ Seeing so many talented people win their well deserved awards, it was incredibly humbling to be and feel part of such a supportive community of bloggers and vloggers!
♥ Last but not least we would like to thank the kind couple we met at the underground who gave us their tube tickets as they didn’t need them anymore and were heading home – something as simple as that seriously made our day!
JESS LOVES…
♥ Those cocktail ice lollies as Em mentioned up there! I got to sample a Cosmo and a Caipirinha while Em indulged in a White Russian, I can honestly say they were the bomb!
♥ Breaking Bad. We’re half way through series 3 right now, a few people have said there’s a bit of a lull in series 3 but I’m not feeling it at all, I’m just as addicted as ever!
♥ Heading up to London for the Cosmo Awards, I feel like Emily has already told you everything about it but i’ll reinforce it again, it was AMAZING! I particularly loved designing my own bubble gum flavoured cupcake, having nail art done and getting some glitter henna tattoos! The free cocktails were also delicious and went down a treat!
♥ Feeling like an actual wedding blogger. I know that sounds weird, but it’s so nice to walk into a room and actually know people! I feel like we’ve met so many great people through blogging and am so proud to be part of such an awesome community!!
♥ Lighting the fire for the first time this season! That’s right, yesterday the wood burner was lit and it was glorious!! I absolutely adore cosying up in front of a fire!

For all the backstage stuff from the Cosmo Awards watch Rock n Roll Brides video!!!
We met Hannah whilst we were having hair and makeup done at the Mondrian hotel right before the awards. She rocked up all 5ft of her all cute and sweet – so I was completely taken aback when she said she had a vlog about sex and relationships. I knew I had to check it out and the day after we got back I sat about all morning watching her videos. I am her new biggest fan and I cant wait to share more of her videos with you. I would really like to thank her for sharing her cake with me too, it takes a special person to share cake!
And last but not least what do you get when you cross your love of kittens with a love of American Horror Story???? Amerikitten Horror Story of course! You just have to watch this!!!
