Everyone loves getting a little something to take away from a wedding don’t they? A wedding favour is a gift given to each wedding guest, this tradition originated in Italy where five sugar almonds were given; they were to represent wealth, health, fertility, long life & happiness. We love this tradition and as time has gone on favours have ‘evolved’ into almost anything! They often thread in with the theme, symbolise something about the couple’s personalities or are just a lovely gift!
One place we see a lot of gorgeous favours is Etsy, and while we are spending a lot of time getting our Etsy shop up and ready we must admit we occasionally get sidetracked admiring all of the other amazing hand crafted items on there! Some of the designers are super talented creative people and it’s only fair that we share some of them with you! So, we compiled together a few favourites to stir your imagination up & inspire you to get creative with your favours!
These birdhouse favours get our vote! They are from Art Angel who describes them as ‘charming mini birdhouses that make great original wedding favors. Hand-painted and collaged, each one is unique’
Who doesn’t love wacking a glitter moustache on their face for some comedy photographs?! People seriously cannot resist! You can get these from The Paper Jungle
Here’s another original idea from Boodwoir – Fortune cookies as favours!
How adorable are these love potion bottles from dasweetzpot ?!?!?! They are fully customisable to all of your wedding details to give it that extra special touch!
Another favour that’s becoming increasingly popular is pots of jam! You know it’s money well spent because your guests are very likely to use them! These are again from dasweetzpot since they have such a wide range of edible favours!
Our final favourite are these lovely hand made boxes from favormaker, these can be used to put anything you like in, most commonly sweets and chocolate are used but regardless of what you fill them with they sit lovely on your tables!
These favours are just a small sample as to what is out there when it comes to giving your guests a little something extra! If you did something creative with favours at your wedding we would love to hear about it! Drop us an email here !
Much Bespoke Love xx
