WEEKEND WEDDING PLANNING: FINDING THE ONE!
Welcome back to our second edition of Weekend Wedding Planning. We hope you enjoyed last weeks links and found some helpful tips among my ramblings. This weekend we are heading to Carmarthenshire to celebrate the wedding of a our real bride reporter, to her beau, you might otherwise know them as Sophie & Gareth of Crown & Glory.
I realize its terribly unoriginal to comment on how quickly it has come around but it does really feel like just yesterday we were sharing their engagement story and ‘boom’ tomorrow is the wedding. I’m already second guessing myself as to whether or not 18 months is going to give us enough time to plan our destination wedding? But then I remind myself of how Merari & Fernando planned an intimate ceremony in Tree People Park in just 12 weeks and of Maren & Jon who planned their colourful Las Vegas wedding in just 10! It’s these stories that remind me of why we chose a destination wedding in the first place, to keep it simple and relaxed so I really should just stop with the fretting already!
This week has been fairly quiet on the wedding planning front, I’ve mainly just been showing photos of our wedding ceremony location to Mr T and informing our family and friends of our plans. However there was one exciting thing that I did this week and that was to start looking for wedding dresses and I mean really looking.
If you didn’t already know Mexico is freakin’ HOT all of the time! Being someone that sweats profusely from my face means I need to a dress that is going to be cool! So no big meringues because I would most definitely melt. I have never really given much thought to what my ideal dress would be? My style is pretty casual, I like things to be minimal – minimal pattern, minimal colour, minimal layers and up until last week I was looking at minimal wedding dresses but nothing was really making me feel like I had even come close to finding ‘THE ONE’. And then finally, I found it…
I obviously don’t want to give away too much just yet, just in case I change my mind, we are 18 months away and I have been known to change my mind rather quickly but what has surprised me, is just how unlike me it is? Is that a good thing or bad thing? I don’t know? All I know is I love it and I can actually envisage myself in it on the big day. That has to be good doesn’t it?
Talking of dresses have you seen this competition over on Rock n Roll Bride? You could win £500 to spend with Chotronette!!
I know I wont have to worry about a jacket for the big day but I can’t help but wish it was going to be a little cooler in Mexico so I could wear one of these!
Obviously if you thinking of dresses, then you’re also thinking of hairstyles? How pretty would this Top Braided ponytail look on a boho bride?
I’m undecided on whether or not we will be including any other flowers except flower crowns in our big day, but if we do I would imagine them look as sophisticated as these.
Did you see that we launched a brand new product in the shop this week. These Beyonce inspired cards are the coolest way to ask your ladies to join your bride squad.
Studio DIY pretty much made all my hen party dreams come true this week with these DIY Frose Juice Pouches.
If like me your using Pinterest to do save all of your wedding inspiration then, you will be pleased to hear all about the new features they will be introducing to celebrate 200 million users.
Finally… The Handmade Fair starts tomorrow, so if you’ve got nothing else planned this weekend and fancy yourself as a DIY bride head to Hampton Court Palace and prepare to be inspired.
That’s all for now, but next week I will be back with more helpful links for your weekend of wedding planning. We will be attending yet another wedding as our dear friend Mermaid Gossip is tying the knot. Here is a little peak at some of the decor she has been making for the big day.
